Viking at 2009 Brooklyn EMF

We had a blast this past weekend at the 2009 Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival. It was our second year doing it, and the first year where we had a full roster playing out! Crew members Terror Dactel, VDRK, OCD Automatic, Viking, and Charlie Tippie all performed sets.

We've got a video above from a festival-goer of Viking dropping his signature massive set. Check out photos of the entire festival at Nicky Digital and The Culture of Me.

Thanks to all who came and made the event possible, especially Famous Friends!

The Bloody Beetroots feat The Cool Kids – Awesome

Bloody Beetroots

The Beetroots are back and are about to drop their debut full-length on DIM MAK on September 8th. It's going to have a lot of older tunes including Butter, Warp 1.9, but also features guest appearances by Justin Pearson (The Locust, Head Wound City), Ed Banger artist Vicarious Bliss, and many more.

This fresh new tune slows it down, showcasing the guys' signature electro sound and twisting into a hip hop mutant with The Cool Kids.

Ross D – The 215

Ross D

Did liquid funk ever die? Not according to Philadelphia-native Ross D whose new tune, "The 215", taken from his upcoming album Musical D-Lite, evokes the sounds of High Contrast, Makoto, and Hospital Records. Ross D really shines because the tunes sound natural and never forced.

Thick drums, the perfect grooves, and fantastic sampling make tunes like "So Fine" and "The 215" definitely stand out; the latter being a perfect summer tune that you can crank while driving down to the beach.

Be sure to pick up the album now on Beatport and on physical on September 8th!

Little Boots – New In Town (Blogula Remix)

Little Boots

Larry Tee and Alexander Technique, or as they're known together, Blogula, sent us their latest remix of Little Boots' "New In Town".

The guys have kept the original's pop-flare but have added a darker layer. As a result, it's something that's much more welcome at late-night clubs, especially those going for somewhat minimal electro-pop.
